Nursery Year 2020-21

Welcome to Coundon Primary School Nursery

We are sorry we have not been able to meet any of you yet. We have added a little bit of information about us all to introduce ourselves.

We are really excited about meeting you all. Miss Jones will be calling you over the next couple of weeks to arrange a doorstop home visit and your settling in sessions in September.

If you have any questions in the meantime you can contact us on Nursery@coundon.coventry.sch.uk

The Rainbow Games WB 13.7.20

Get Set 4 PE have organised a set of fun activities for schools to use as part of a Sports Day.

Those of you at home can take part too! Either do them all in a day or spread them out over the week.

Record your scores on the score sheet and email your results to your teacher.

The activities are differentiated for EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

If you’re at home and want your grown ups to take part too, then they should complete the activities that are aimed at KS2.

There are 7 games to complete, all of which can be found in the PowerPoint below.

Have fun!

National School Sport Week 20th -26th June

How do you fancy challenging friends, family or neighbours to some fun, virtual sporting activities?

At national children’s charity, the Youth Sport Trust, we are determined to ensure that young people stay active and connected through this difficult time. We’ve been helping families do this with our daily #StayHomeStayActive activities since March and now we’re challenging the public to go one step further by joining us in our first ever National School Sport Week at Home, supercharged by Sky Sports.

Coundon Primary School is preparing to join the Youth Sport Trust and Sky Sports to help young people and families up and down the country engage in a week of virtual sporting challenges.

With young people set to miss out on their main school sport day this summer, the Youth Sport Trust is taking its annual National School Sport Week campaign beyond the school gates to parents and families – reinvented as National School Sport Week at Home.

Taking place from 20-26 June, the week will give families, communities, schools and sports clubs the opportunity to take part in a series of virtual sporting challenges which help young people capture the enjoyment, competition and camaraderie they may be missing out on and the Youth Sport Trust is delighted that Sky Sports will be helping to supercharge the campaign.

Those with children that are staying home: All that you need to do to take part is follow the activities found in this PowerPoint, make a note of the scores that you get and send a copy off to your child’s class teacher.

Those with children that are in school: Your children will be carrying out the set activities in school within their Bubble. If they are home for part of the week, then they can continue their challenge at home.

If you would like further activities to join in with, take a look at this:

We hope you all enjoy taking part, Mrs Gray and Miss Perrett x

Phonics

Think of a phoneme (any letter of the alphabet) and find as many items in your house beginning with this phoneme. Eg: S might be spoon, sofa, sandwich, soap.

Then make a list of all of the items you found. Repeat this two more times using a different phoneme each time.
