Our pupils are growing up in a world surrounded by technology. The use of technology, including the internet, is an integral element of life and therefore forms an important part of our learning in school.
The use of technology can have a positive impact in our lives but we cannot ignore the risks that can be associated. It is our duty to teach our children the importance being safe online and to provide them with the skills to do this themselves.
In school, we use a filtering system to prevent children accessing inappropriate sites. We also have regular activities to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe online. We would like this message of safe exploration of technology to continue at home where children have access to a wide variety of devices such as mobile phones and games consoles.
