Welcome to Coundon Primary’s Forest School
Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning which allows children to become independent, resilient, reflective learners that are able to openly communicate and work in a team. Forest school offers children opportunities to achieve, develop their self-esteem and evoke a curiousity about the world around them. Children are encouraged to take controlled risks in order to achieve small but rewarding tasks, using their own personal learning style in order to succeed.
Chickens
We have re-homed 6 rescue chickens from the British Hen Welfare Society. These were caged hens and on pick up Mrs Maude was informed that they had been rescued only 3 hours earlier. On entering their new home they were slightly bewildered but through the children’s nurturing care they are becoming more familiar with their new surroundings and enjoying their new home. We will keep you updated on their progress.
