Kingswood
As a school we run a 2-night Year 4 residential trip every year to the Kingswood Outdoor Education centre in Staffordshire.
We always try to include a mix of adventure and team building activities to give the children a rounded experience. These have included quad bikes, zipwire, high ropes, team challenge assault course and many more. They also do evening activities as a whole group, which can be things such as mini Olympics, campfire or disco.
Kingswood is an incredible opportunity for the children to attempt activities they have never tried before and create memories with their friends that will last for years.
Year 6 Residential – Calshot
During the Summer Term, we take our Year 6’s on a weekend Residential to Calshot. This trip enables us to use the outdoors, to bring learning to life, offering enrichment and personal development.
Calshot involves the children in a range of activities which cannot be easily achieved in the school environment – canoeing, abseiling, high ropes, to name a few. Over the weekend the challenges change attitudes and raise aspirations, through participation in new activities. Rising to new challenges and living alongside their peers helps children to become more adaptable and confident, skills which are critical to so many areas of development.
During Calshot the children enjoy themselves so much they don’t often realise they are learning and it’s this power of enjoyment which can often produce the greatest achievements.
Calshot is a definite hit with our pupils and an experience they all look forward too – parents included!
