On Friday 24th March, Year 4 held a Roman Day. In the morning, we learnt about the intricate mosaic designs that would have been found in the Roman times. We created our own Roman Helmet mosaics, even something this small required a lot of patience!
During the afternoon, we recalled information about the Roman Army and what made them so successful. We practised some of their defensive battle formations, using the shields we had made for homework. These included; The Rebel-Cavalry, The Orb, The Wedge and The Tortoise.
Once we had practised these, the 2 classes took it in turns to attack or be attacked…
Attack!
After all of that battling, it was time to feast.
