Our topic this week is ‘Around the world’ We will be looking at a world map and the different places where people live or where their families are from. We will be studying climates in different countries and locating different countries on a map. We will be discussing different types of housing in other countries and comparing them to our own houses. Does your house have a garden? Is it attached or detached? Is it a house, bungalow or flat?

In maths we will be learning about odd and even numbers. We will be investigating putting objects into pairs and seeing if there are any left over. We will also be making models with cubes, copying and matching them. Can your child share objects and work out which amounts are odd and which are even when shared between two?

We are working hard in our new groups. Some groups have recapped sounds this week and some groups have learnt new sounds. We are working so hard in phonics and this being shown off in their writing and reading. An extra well done for those children who are doing their online work and practising their reading book at home. Those children who are consistently completing their online homework and reading regularly are the children who are making the best progress. Please continue to read every night at home as this gives your child the best support in helping them to move forward with their phonics.

Thank you so much to all the parent’s who attended RKM’s assembly.
The lovely weather is set to continue so please can you provide your child with a named sunhat and a water bottle each day. There are still a few children coming to school without a water bottle . Please provide water and not squash. Please can you also apply sun cream to your child before they come to school as we are unable to apply it on them. Many brands do an 8 hour cream which means your child doesn’t need to reapply it in school. Thanks for your support.
Have a great week.
