Guided Reading
Comprehension
Yesterday, your task was to read Chapter 2 of the text Spycatcher. Today’s task is to have a go at answering the questions. Please see below for the questions. If you haven’t got your login details, please email me (see email address below)
English
Today in English, we are going to start a new unit of work which will focus on the genre of persuasive text. What does the term persuasive mean? Can you give any examples of where you have seen persuasive text?
In today’s lesson, begin by looking at the video clip – can you identify any of the persuasive devices used? Scroll through the slides and try to identify examples of persuasive devices in the Florida Brochure. Main task is to identify the features of persuasive text in the Palms Hotel brochure – use the checklist to help you and look at slide 6 on how to set it out.
I have included an editable version of the Palms Hotel brochure that you can annotate on Microsoft Word and then email it.
PSHE
Create a booklet or presentation about Friendship. You could include pictures, rules, how to be a good friend, acrostic poems, etc.
Please remember to email me an example of a piece of work which you have completed and to also let me know how you are doing. Thank you.
